Oregon Man Repeatedly Calls 911, Claims McDonald's Robbed Him

FAIL OF THE DAY!!!

CLACKAMAS, Ore. - A man upset at the way McDonald's employees handled his order was charged after allegedly calling 911 repeatedly on Friday to report the restaurant had robbed him, authorities said.

Jeremy Lloyd Martin, 23, was charged with improper use of the 911 service, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said. He spent a night in jail over the incident.

According to a tape of the 911 calls released by Clackamas County 911, a man initially told a dispatcher that he was at the McDonald's near the intersection of Southeast Sunnyside Road and Southeast 82nd Avenue and needed help. The man said he had paid $10 in the drive-thru but only received a single burger and a fry before he was told to pull around.

"Sir, this is not a police matter," the dispatcher told him. "You need to take it up with the manager of the McDonald's."

But a person who identified himself as Martin called back demanding that dispatchers send a police officer to the scene and threatening to sue.

"This is a 911 emergency," the person said. "I got robbed for eight dollars."

"Sir, 911 is life-and-death only," the dispatcher said. "If you do continue calling 911 you will be arrested for misuse."

"Well, arrest me at (expletive) 82nd and Sunnyside Road," the caller responded. "Please send a cop right now. I swear to God all my life..."

Eventually an officer arrived after a person who identified himself as Martin had called 911 again.

A McDonald's employee also called 911 to report that three men were screaming at her and trying to fight. The dispatcher told her to keep the doors locked and not to approach the drive-thru. Another witness told 911 the men were harassing employees.

On Saturday, Martin told KATU he stood by his actions.

"I was very upset that they tried to charge me for food I had already paid for," he said.

Martin said he has worked on the other side of the drive-thru window as an assistant manager at a competing fast food restaurant and has called 911 over disputes involving customers but was never before arrested.

"For me to end up going to jail over a $10 order, that's just ridiculous," he said.

Pop Star Michael Jackson Dead:

L.A. Times And CBS are reporting that Michael Jackson has died of cardiac arrest. Paramedics were called to his home this afternoon after the singer stopped breathing. When they arrived, he had no pulse and after repeated attempts to revive him, he was pronounced dead. Jackson's songs were featured on a number of different movie soundtracks over the years, and as an actor he appeared in the film The Wiz. Of course we'll never forget his extended music video for Thriller, directed by John Landis. Though he's had his share of problems and controversy over the years, it's sad to hear that one of the great pop-culture icons of our generation has passed on. He was 50.
RIP.....

Keeping Clifton Teen's Memory Alive.....

CLIFTON – This summer, fundraisers will be held at a local restaurant and nearby golf course which were organized in the memory of a Clifton teen who died last year.

James “Jimmy” Hoey, a 17-year-old City resident and senior at Clifton High School, died on April 13, 2008 when he was struck by a car while walking on Route 46 late at night. The details remain hazy regarding the events leading up to the accident that night as it is still unclear why he was walking along the busy road and where he was heading.

Following the accident the community grieved along with the Hoeys who have worked closely with civic and school organizations for many years.

He is survived by his father Jeffrey, mother Cindy, siblings Allison and Matthew as well as Grandmother Beverly and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

“We cannot believe a year has already gone by,” Jeff Hoey said in a recently released statement. “The loss is just as painful today as it was that day in April last year and we have to face the fact this will always be true. We have decided to try and make something good come from this very painful day.”

The Hoey family formed a foundation which will help fund organizations and charities whose causes they believe would have been important to their son.

On Monday, June 22, between 4 and 10 p.m., the TGI Fridays restaurant on Route 3 in Clifton will donate 20 percent of its profits earned to the Jimmy Hoey Memorial Foundation. Anyone interested in contributing are required to bring the TGI Friday’s fundraiser flyer to the restaurant.

Next month the foundation will hold the first annual Jimmy Hoey Memorial Golf Outing at Greenbrook Country Club in North Caldwell. The July 20 event includes a buffet luncheon, cocktail reception, buffet dinner and an award ceremony. The cost is $250 for each individual golfer and $1,000 per foursome. Donations can be made by sending checks payable to Jimmy Hoey Memorial Foundation and sent to the Jimmy Hoey Golf Outing, 38 Meadow Lane, Clifton, 07012.

The Hoey family will contribute money raised to two Boy Scout troops that were close to Jimmy Hoey’s heart, said his father Jeff, as well as to the Somerset Handicapped Riding Stable in Somerset. The family is also creating the Jimmy Hoey Memorial Scholarship to fund deserving high school seniors. They plan to award the first scholarship next year, Jeff Hoey said.

For more information contact Jeff Hoey at 973-222-0368.

We at The BlackFlag Shoppe have heard so much about Jimmy Hoey,Unfortunately we did not have the pleasure of getting to know him better,we do however know how much love he had within his friends and family. Everyone who spoke about him, spoke highly.
We urge everyone to participate in this fundraiser!!
