Artist Series!

As we see more and more unconventional mediums coming under the scrutiny of artists (i.e. Mountain Dew Green Label Art), Colt 45 is the latest to join the fun with their own artist series cans. The quintessential form of malt liquor in a can, the inaugural artist features cartoony creative Food One as his work is seen on a brown-paper-esque background. However, this should be the start of something larger as Colt 45 has opened the floodgates to further artists looking to have their work displayed on upcoming Colt 45 cans. Sure to be a collectors item

The event is in celebration of the 50year anniversary of the ubiquitous 2.55 Chanel handbag. The mobile art structure which resembles a futuristic spaceship has already well traveled ground in Hong Kong and Tokyo. 15 artists will be commissioned to display their Chanel inspired pieces at the show and it is sure to draw huge crowds to the Rumsey playfield this fall. So keep your calender open I'm sure this will be one exhibit you wont want to miss.

Each one has to represent the most effectively throughout the day in a STRICTLY CIPHER-driven event.
Frienemies is about representing in the ciphers. Every B-boy and B-girl is on their own! No preset battles. In the early to mid '80s, breaking was at an all-time high throughout the world. Crews were rolling thick, and a lot of them were at peace. The only time they didn't get along was when it was time to battle in the club. Rock Steady Crew and New York City Breakers were going to places like Negril, The Roxy, Kennedy High School and other places where jams were going down.No one was worried about hurting someone’s feelings or concerned with battling their own friends, but rather battled with a fierce will to win. We were all "FRIENEMIES." ‘Frienemies” is the place to battle that person that you chill with on a regular basis and show him/her that they’re not as good as they brag about all the time.

Ain’t Heard It From Me!

New music from Rhymefest featuring: Wale. After working with Kanye West and winning a Grammy for “Jesus Walks”, Rhymefest has stepped his game up by coming out with some jams of his own. Hailing from Chicago, Che Smith released his solo debut in 2006 under the title Blue Collar, and now he’s prepping his second release, El Che. Rhymefest is a down to earth MC that prefers to talk about daily hardships and humors instead of hitting the clubs and dealing drugs. He gained lots of respect on the freestyle circuit and has become  known for his laid-black witty style. On “Ain’t Heard It From Me” Rhymmefest teams up with Wale over an old school hip-hop beat. The production features some scratching, live drums, a quick piano hook, and clean lyrics throughout. A great summer track that’ll get you ready for the release of El Che in the fall.

Ready For War?

It’s been quite some time since any body’s heard from the State Prop chain gang, but that’s all changing with the release of their new album just over the horizon. Over the past couple of years there has been controversy within the group, which ultimately stemmed from Sigel’s allegations that Prop members didn’t support him during his prison sentence. Thankfully, that outlook was put to bed and Sigel began to work on the new album with seemingly no problems. “Ready For War” has Young Chris, Beans, and Freeway rhyming over a looming funk beat built with a sampled reggae hook. The feeling of desperation, anger, and purpose still lie at the core of the Philadelphia rappers’ lyrics, and as usual, it sounds on point and hard-hitting. If the rest of State Prop’s new album is along these lines rap enthusiasts definitely have something to look forward to.

Zenetti Skate Team. W.T.F?

Today I came across this odd piece of skateboard information and said what the F. When I read that luxury automobile wheel maker Zenetti has formed a Skate Team with Brooklyn Projects founder, Dominic DeLuca, to form the first skate team for the wheel industry. The team includes some of the freshest players including Stevie Williams, Braydon Szafranski, Terry Kennedy, Paul Rodriquez, and Jereme Rogers. Unlike the usual sponsorship, they aim to form a lasting partnership that will bring the two industries together. Let's keep an eye on this unlikely pairing to see what the future will bring?

Jadakiss: Don’t Start Nuttin’

When Jadakiss and The Lox where released from the shackles of “the shiny suit era” and landed in his rightful place on the much harder edged synth heavy Ruff Ryders label it was apparent that while Styles P and Sheek Louch held their own on the mic, it was only a matter of time until Jada broke out and took spot as one of the hardest spitters in the game. Jada released a flurry of memorable mix tape verses, excellent guest appearances, a great solo album, and then misfired slightly with his sophomore solo LP and then went missing in action for a while. The momentum of him being the self declared “top 5 dead or alive” MC began to slow, as his buzz softened and the MC went into label limbo. Kiss plans to make his triumphant return with a new label deal with Rocafella and renewed vigor. On his jump off single “Don’t Start Nuttin” Jada is back to his metaphor and simile style with his distinct raspy vocal timbre. The track is produced by Sean C. and LV of the Hitmen and sounds like the perfect street anthem for the summer.

Hey dude's, as we all know Times are Difficult for plenty of people, we are all feeling the pinch of the Bush Recession, Gas is High and so am I ..  Thats why when I heard about Iggy Goleczynski of Two Tone Shop, having an eviction sale I had to show some type of support, now its no secret that Im not in the Punk Scene, But Les and I still went and spent some change with Iggy, I met Iggy about 8 months ago and talking to him and listening to his story, I just felt he should be receiving more respect and support from his fellow Punk Rockers, don't get it Fucked up He has alot of of Fans and well wishers. Every time I mention Iggy to some of the guys who come into the BlackFlag Shoppe and are part of some band, they all Love and talk highly of him, and boast about how much influence he had on the Scene. Well its time to step up for Iggy and the Two Tone Shop... Talk is Cheap Please go and show some Love , spend, donate, anything to raise this money he needs to have a place he can still call home, thats right the eviction is for his apartment not his business ... so its that more crucial that we all help out, we are all fucked up one way or another but we still have homes to go to ....
